Leeds v Harrogates Federation Match

Postby Pigeon on Sun Aug 24, 2008 7:23 pm

Id just like to say unlucky to Harrogate who pushed us all the way today and were very unlucky not to beat us. A great result for both away teams and there was some good banter and bowling at Pateley, with some very good individual wins for Richard Hebblewaite and Martin Hemmingway. Good luck for next year and hopefully you will come back up next year :D

Thanks for the kind words pigeon, it was a good game today and it was quite nice that we didn't end up getting thrashed as Mr Smith had predicted and nearly took away a much needed victory.

To be fair Leeds were just too good for us - Though as you say i think we gave an excellent account of ourselves. I hope we can come straight back up next year and can push to get into the top league and play you guys again. It was nice playing Leeds and there was some good positive rivalry today.

I think Harrogate has a bright bowling future and by the time we play again some of our up and coming young guns may be coming through by then.

Well done North Yorkshire - shame we are going down - but we'll be back.

I have to agree with Pigeon, I was at Pateley which was beautiful may I add, a fantastic day with some great bowling, especially to the unofficial MAN OF THE MATCH Richard Hebblewaite who combined good bowling with unbelievable good fortune to give me a good thrashing. :(

I would also like to apologise on behalf of our away team captain, after getting carried away stomping up a chin dropper the immaculate green was left with a bit of scuff damage !!!

Good luck for next year lads.
