Get off my back and lighten up, its a bowls site, it is not life and death, nothing is intended to upset anyone or case offence. Sorry Chris don't know who Alf Tupper is/was, I am sure he was a Gentleman though.

Love Bobby (always a swannie)

I am surprised that you are not related to Alf 'the tough of the track' Tupper

Immortalised in the comic The Victor he was a mile runner who's full time job was a welder. On many occassions he would be welding late into the night getting a job done with only a break for fish and chips then with little or no sleep would turn up at the world championships with his aged spikes and running kit wrapped in a towel. On occassions he was so exhausted from his welding his team mates would find him asleep in the changing rooms and they would rouse him from his slumbers and he would wake himself with cold water and get to the track just in time to beat all the foreigners, overcoming their cheating tactics in the process, with a last gasp surge to the line to pip the apparently fitter, but lacking in that extra grit and determination, german. On the way home he would celebrate with a double helping of fish and chips.

So you can see he represented all things English and hope you can understand why I thought you were related :D

Nostalgia is not what it used to be I have also remembered he used to beat Toffs too who would look down on Alf's working class roots with disdain

A bit like flat and crown green bowlers

DEAR BOBBY

just want to say let's get going towards the summer without any anymosity.
I don't mean you any harm whatsoever ...it's just that I was told to remove certain unsuitable literature/video and you have a nickname which is offensive to those of us who understand where you are coming from.
I personally don't mind, but the moderators had a go at me, which prompted me to have a go at you ..only because I didn't think it was fair.
Anyway let's get on with 2008 and I hope you have a good season and I apologise to you for any offense. I am really an ok bloke and wish everyone the best for 2008 and as far as you are concerned Bobby I hope to god I don't meet you this year as you sound a bit good to me!!
All the best

Bill

Just seen a nice fish

Nice one Bill, no hard feelings, I shouldn't think you will meet me in the Harrogate league as i have not played in it for a couple of years having to cut back my travelling due to a little girl coming on the scene and the distance I had to travel even for a home game (54 mile round trip). I did it for a long time but it was simply not feasable in the end. However I loved my time in the HG league and the people that are in it, I may however play you in the 1st division of the Taddy league, otherwise the other opportunity to meet for a competitive game will be in August when my Super Leeds team meet the minnows of Harrogate, in the Federation national league. I am sure I will get plenty of grief from my HG chums/opponents when I take to the green that day, I hope so any way as I will need as much incentive as I can, to conquer my old colleagues and send them back into the 3rd division!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.
I have heard that you are strengthening your Fed team this year, trying to get some of my 2nd teamers in?

Come on girls, take the bait, are you gonna gun down mighty Leeds?

All my deapest Love to one and all.

Bobby.

Married

Postby Bobby Tupper on Wed Mar 12, 2008 11:45 pm

Flash, I am expecting a proposal any day now, when it happens, would you please perform the ceremony, I also would like to send out some invites, any ideas on who should be getting a special invite? Maybe Roger and his mate?

What do you think?

Love Bobby Tupper (soon to be Bobby Pelican)

Bridesmaid & Usher

Postby Robin Hoodie on Fri Mar 14, 2008 5:44 pm

I need a usher and a bridesmaid or two, i know there are plenty women around the greens of Harrogate to choose from, Low Harrogate used to have the most I seem to remember.

Bugger it, lets have a shotgun wedding when Swan regain the League this year.

Should be interesting, Love Bobby.
My granny has now been found but she can't explain as to what the salty substance is thats dripping from her nose.

Nope, never ever removed any of Barney's posts.

The minge hiding hankerchief link had to go, but I'll alway's let people known if I'm removing anything.

Funny, Corry accused me only this week of editing his Posts which I most definately did not do?
