Bardsey’s Mark Holmes clinched the Starbeck Gala title this week after an excellent display.

Holmes overcame some tough competition in the semi final beating Brian Walker 21-14. Black Swan’s Dave Hodgson and Dragon’s Paul Worsnop met in the other semi. After a tight start Hodgson managed to capitalise and secure his place in the final.

The final swung back and too between Holmes and Hodgson. Both players found it difficult to stamp their mark on the game. The tie remained neck and neck but it was finally Holmes that managed to settle on a length to finally pull away to take a well deserved 21-17 victory.
