1, Garforth
2, Scholes
3, Black Swan
4, Crossgates
5, Whitkirk
6, Tadcaster
7, Chapel St
8, Magnets
9, Bardsey
10, Bilton Dragon

Garforth, Scholes, Swan and Crossgates have all invested in one or two class players recently, well maybe not Garforth    No hard feelings smithy  , so i can see it being a tight finish with these 4 leading the race.

I was looking at the Leeds Sat league the other day and it appears that Holbeck got relegated - sad sight as they were once a very strong side.

I hear that Phil is going to Bardsey in the Taddy League, so we havnt got rid of him that easy :D

I don't understand Pigeon, why would you want rid of Pill Hill.

He adds something to the game with his Wisdom and etiquette, he taught me a valuable lesson at Black Swan once, his 2 practice ends consisted of striking at the jack at both ends with both woods and missing with every attempt.
Needless to say a defeat swiftly followed.

The lesson here folks, when you're at a tricky away venue don't waste your practice.

I am glad he hasn't left the league completly though, its a strong league and he is a good player.

Cozza, could you please define the word class as you understand it,
first class, second class, third class or classless.
Second reserve, as they say "practice makes perfect" he obviously carried on where he left off.

Really looking forward to taddy this season - as people have said any one of 6 clubs could be in with a chance and hopefully swan can mount a better challenge than for a while with more quality players available for thursdays again this season.

I think Bardsey will be a surprise package in this league and break into the top four. Especially if Dave Spilsbury is turning out for them thursdays ? :?

Just looking at my league predictions before the start of the season and still a slight hope of getting them all right, if tonight games went...

Garforth v Magnets 8-2 (9-1)
Chapel St v Bardsey 9-1 (8-2)
Scholes v Crossgates 9-1 (8-2)
Tadcaster v Whitkirk 7-3 (7-3)
Black Swan v Dragon 6-4 (9-1)

In brackets are what i think the scores will actually be.

mmm, very interseting David, so on your predictions after tonight, the final table would look like this:

1 GARFORTH REC 120
2 BLACK SWAN A 101
3 WHITKIRK KNIGHTS 100
4 SCHOLES A 98
5= CROSSGATES 96
5= TADCASTER 96
7 CHAPEL STREET 87
8 BARDSEY EAGLES 74
9 MAGNET OLD 73
10 DRAGON FLIES 55

The fight for 2nd place and the avoidance of relegation goes to the wire!

The table before tonights games is:

1 GARFORTH REC 111 (+Loads)
2 WHITKIRK KNIGHTS 97 (+305)
3 CROSSGATES 94 (+105)
4 BLACK SWAN A 92 (+113)
5 SCHOLES A 90 (+103)
6 TADCASTER 89 (+38)
7 CHAPEL STREET 79 (-71)
8 MAGNET OLD 72 (-170)
9 BARDSEY EAGLES 72 (-334)
10 DRAGON FLIES 54

So realistically, 3 teams in with a chance of 2nd spot, however wouldn't it be just like Scholes to win 10-0 and sneak into the runners up spot! Favourites for that spot have got to be whitkirk, however the way they rolled over last week gives Swan a real chance with Crossgates and Scholes outside bets. Personally I think Swan will do well to win better than 7-3 given the Dragons recent good form meaning whitkirk will need 3 winners to secure 2nd spot, having the better aggregate of the 2 if they become tied on the same points.

Good luck to everyone. Hope you enjoyed the season.

League 1 Average Winner

The leading player in Div 1 is also really close with 5 players on the 6+ mark and with 4 out of those top 5 potentaily playing each other, a good bet for finishing top could be Rob "Christmas" Carroll, however with the current leader being the super consistant Garham Franklin being on his home patch tonight, it would take a brave man to back against him finishing top of the pile. Its all going to rest on the outcome of the draw at Taddy. The standings with one game to play are:
1 G FRANKLIN * 17 12 5 331 215 6.82
2 R CARROLL* 15 11 4 299 200 6.6
3 A TELFORD * 15 13 2 305 210 6.33
4 STAN ELWELL 16 11 5 314 214 6.25
5 GARY WIKE * 15 11 4 298 207 6.07

A win for Graham to 10 or less would move him into the +7 bracket would mean that only Rob could catch him with a big win.
However a narrow win or loss for Graham gives the others in the top 5 a real squeak.

Rob needs to win by more 4 more chalks than Graham to win, Alan needs to pull 8 on Graham and 4 on Rob to win, Stan needs to pull 10 on Graham, 6 on Rob and 2 on Alan, Gary realistically needs to draw Alan or Graham and beat them well and hope that Rob and Stan don't do as well.

All very clear, but it gives them all something to play for in the last game although I am sure all teams will be trying to end on a high note (well nearly all!)
