2010 Transfers

Postby the wolf on Thu Oct 29, 2009 4:32 pm

Any news of player movements next year as yet?

Wayside have confirmed Alex Wolfenden as a signing from Starbeck for a small fee of £2.99 in Starbecks winter clearout.

McLeod has penned a contract extension at Starbeck and is actively seeking replacements for The Wolf.

Any news please post here.

The fact he hasn't found one yet is not through lack of effort

Wayside's 2nd string will certainly be very strong next year with quite a few current first teamers moving down the rankings and the incluson of maybe all 3 Walker brothers.

3 horse race for that second division title :D

Ex Waterloo winner Brian Duncan has just moved to Harrogate and has expressed an interest in living at Pateley Bridge which has prompted Phil English to move back to them and go for promotion. Black Swan's loss but then they have 2 Aces up their sleeve.
Sounds good to me.
Also understand that Chris Rigby and and Mark Reynolds are going to BWMC following the Walker influx at Wayside.

Understand big changes taking place at Bilton WMC as they are recruiting from Wayside and
Knaresborough!!
Could be a real challenge to Swan next year.
Heard about Brian Duncan as well.

I will believe Brian Duncan is joining Pateley when he is stood on the green shaking my hand. This sounds alot like the famous "Kingpin" who has joined the league this year

Just to let you know that I am still around.Brian and I had many a game but as he aged a did eventually get the better of him.
Still in his day the best bowler ever to have bowled the game of crown green bowls. Even now he will be far better than any bowler in the Harrogate area

I don't think these two barmaids at the skipton would be enough to tempt him there ???

The pub at the Swan will be re-opening in the new year and has undergone a complete refurb - rumours of £500k being spent on it and will be a real ale bar - same owners as old bell tavern nr valley gardens.

The bar staff have also been improved in a bid to hijack the proposed transfer to Dragon of Harrogates most wanted bowler.

These ladies below will hopefully clich the deal :D

As you can see they also look after bowls cases - I believe these belong to Mr Hill, Mr Nacey and a newly aquired one for Mr D Hodgson.
