DREAM TEAM 08'

Right this is the plan:

Harrogate Bowls Fantasy League

1st Division only

1 player per team (e.g you cannot have Ian Airey and Gordon Flower in the same Dream Team as they both play for Wayside)

League Only

£1 to enter, winner takes all

You pick 5 players
You start with £1000.00
Group 1 players). £400
Group 2 players). £300
Group 3 players). £200
Group 4 players). £100
Group 5 players). £50

*groups based on averages last year*

For each player (league only):

3 points for a single figure win
2 points for a double figures win
1 point for losing to 20
-2 points for losing to single figures

Different ways of how you can pick players:

(Numbers represent the groups in which the players are situated in)
1). 1,2,4,4,4
2). 2,2,3,4,4
3). 1,1,4,5,5
4). 3,3,3,3,3
5). 1,2,3,5,5
6). 2,2,2,5,5
7). 1,3,3,4,4

*Simply the Best has the exception of having two bwmc players in the same team as even after researching did not know about his move to wmc.
*new rules:

you may have more than one team, but you cannot have any of the same 5 from your other team

3 points for being runner up in a Harrogate Tournament
and 5 points for winning a Harrogate Tournament

Tournaments i'm including:

Single Merits
Pairs Merits
Veterans Merits
Tommy Cochrane
Starbeck Gala
Len Tipling
Champion of Champions
Wilf Shaw Pairs

cheers

(P.S You cannot have the same 5 as someone else)

Nice to see, hope you get some support for this idea Cory.

Not sure about a point for losing 20-21 though Cory.

How about adding extra points if one of your choices ends up winning one of the HABA titles.

For example, 5 points for winning the Merit [single and pairs] Tommy Cochrane, Len Tipling, Starbeck Gala and Champion of C.

Only a thought, best of luck with it. I will enter a team or 2 after assessing pre season training, and finding out if any players have changed allegiance over the long hard winter

i dont think i should change it now, as people have already picked teams, and they might have picked teams based on league performance.

ill improve it all for next year

Very Happy Ah but more teams means more money Cory Wink

No real advantage to haveing more than one team, the increased odds are weighed against the increased expenditure.............might not be a bad thing to consider?

or i could make it so that, if you want another team, you can do, but your not allowed any of the same 5 that are in your other team, just for a bit of fun

and so theres a bit more variety on players involved ?

I would let them have as many teams as they want - Chaz'z idea is good bonus points for a winner (and a runner up of merits ?) i'd still be worth a few points then too Smile

Re havig picked teams - i'm happy to stick with mine even if you change rules now !! understad if you leave that for next time.

I agree with all my fellow Swannies, let people have as many teams as possible with no stipulation, the more cash in the pot the better, also extra points for merit success at all levels, including vets, as then even the 50 quid players have a chance of upping their value.

bring it on, Love Bobby.
