Tadcaster Evening League Predictions

Postby Pigeon on Mon Feb 02, 2009 11:13 am

Predictions for the Tadcaster Evening League this year...

1, Garforth
2,Whitkirk
3, Scholes
4, Black Swan
5, Tadcaster
6, Crossgates
7, Chapel St
8, Magnets
9, Bardsey
10, Bilton Dragon

I think the league will be alot tighter this year with one of 6 teams more than capable of winning the league, at the bottom its two from three to go down for me. But this is just my biased view, good luck to everyone.

I honestly think that we can push for the title this season - if we can get a run going - especially seeing as we will have Swan's saviour form the start this year.

I think Black Swan have streghtened and improved over the last couple of years with Cory and Gordon adding to that. But i feel it is the away form that sometimes lets you down, with only going to places like Whitkirk once a year where as other more local teams will play on the greens in other league. But good luck for the coming year :D

Not sure that Garforth will win the league again this year if the rumour is true that Scholes have strengthed, bringing in players from out of town!!!

Think Scholes need to improve their home green this season.

I always enjoyed going to Scholes in the past and have been on the receiving end of some right bowling lessons there over the years, but last year their green was no where near the standard it has been in the past.

Think Pigeon is right though if we are to challenge then we need to improve our away form certainly at places like Chapel Street and Whitkirk.

The Tadcaster league is great though really good standard - so good luck to all. :D

I think the original prediction suggests not a one horse race but a very close six horse race.

Garforth as holders are the team to beat but plenty of good teams lie in wait.

Quite right. From what I saw last season I think there will be a few contenders. Nobody wants to play in a league where one team completely dominates. Should be a good season.

Looks like Pigeon has no faith in the team from Chapel Street, they won the Richardson last year and came second in the league.Have they lost players? They seemed quite strong to me last time out.

You must try and keep up.As anyone will tell you especially Dave Smith they have lost him which means all is lost.Ask Dave he will tell you they have no chance without his leadership skills.Without his teamaking skills and without all the games his has won over the years for them. The new team on the block is Garforth.Or should that be the improved team.Thats where Dave has gone which means they will of course win the league again.Ask Dave.He will tell you. Nobody else will stand a chance now
Over to you David for your contructive comments and confirmation that already the League is a one horse race

I have placed Chapel St lower down the league just to the amount of players who have left them this year if my "sources" are correct. Such as Phil Hill, Dave Smith, Chris Firth, and then people who would help out like Ian Howard, Howard Broadbent and Paul Tobin, which would be alot of good players for any club to withstand.

I never realised they had lost so many bowlers Pigeon, it is like a list of who is who of the bowling world, if they can finish 6th it will have been a good season.
Very good Kennie Boy, could this be the first time a team has improved due to the loss of a "STAR" player.

Where is Phil Hill 'the man of many clubs' rumoured to be going? I like phil he is a good laugh - hope he isn't leaving the Tadcaster league completely.

I was looking at the Leeds Sat league the other day and it appears that Holbeck got relegated - sad sight as they were once a very strong side.
